We’re glad you’re considering applying to the Litfield Mentorship. This program offers the opportunity to work closely with Danusha Laméris in a supportive and focused environment for deepening your poetry practice.

The mentorship is designed for poets looking for individualized guidance who are committed to their craft, are looking to lean into their strengths, and are open to the possibility of a breakthrough in their writing.

What to Submit
Â
To be considered for the mentorship, please submit the following:
- Three poems that represent your current work.
- One paragraph (approximately 150–300 words) describing:
- Your goals as a writer
- What you hope to gain from the mentorship
- Anything else you’d like us to know about where you are in your writing journey

You will receive a response within 1-2 weeks of submitting your application.
Enrollment & Start Date

We are accepting applications until until all 8 spots are filled.
Start date is on August 20th, 2026 and will run through January 28th, 2027.  Meetings are held every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm Pacific Time, skipping Christmas/New Year's overlaps.

Cost of Membership
Â
The cost of the full mentorship is $5,000. This includes all workshops, craft talks and the private consultation with Danusha Laméris, and participation in the Litfield Writers community for the duration of the program.

If you have a Litfield Membership, a $1,000 discount is available.
Â
This is a comprehensive, small-group experience designed to support your growth as a writer through deep engagement, personalized guidance, and a thoughtfully structured curriculum.
Financing Options
Â
We do not offer in-house payment plans. However, if you are accepted into the program, you may choose to pay in full or use a financing option offered at checkout. You can also pay a partial amount and finance the rest.

Klarna and Afterpay are available to eligible U.S. residents and may allow you to pay in smaller installments over time, or have monthly installments throughout the year, depending on your credit and payment history with those providers.

All financing is subject to approval through Klarna or Afterpay. Availability and terms may vary.

You’ll receive detailed instructions on how to enroll and select your preferred payment method once accepted.

Please note: Submitting an application does not require payment. Payment is only requested upon acceptance. However, Danusha does take time to review and respond to the applications, so please only apply if you are serious about attending.
About the Mentorship
Â
The Field Guide Mentorship is an opportunity for a small group of selected writers to work closely with Danusha LamĂ©ris through small group mentorship, poem workshops, generative writing sessions, personal consults, and community connection. In addition mentees will have access to the Litfield Community for one year, with opportunities to connect with other writers, attend additional craft talks with Danusha and guest writers and more.Â
If you apply for the Field Guide Mentorship during Litfield's brief enrollment window, we will reserve a spot for you in the Litfield community while your application is being reviewed.

Is there a fee to apply?
No. There is no application fee. Danusha does take time to review each application, so we ask that you apply only if you are genuinely considering attending. If you need financial support and the current financing options do not work for you, please mention it in your application

Who should apply?
The mentorship is intended for poets with an existing writing practice—whether emerging or more experienced—who are ready to deepen their work and benefit from individualized support.

Can I apply if I’ve taken other Litfield Writers classes?
Yes. Previous participants in Litfield Writers programs are welcome to apply. If you have taken poetry workshops with Danusha before and she knows your work, yo won't need to send a sample of your work. Please do send the paragraph.

All applications will be reviewed with care. Selected applicants will receive next steps via email.Â
